You need to think about the field checking system and its correct set-up. A prerequisite for effective checking of compliance with parking regulations is the registration of tickets issued through all payment channels (parking meters, SMS, mobile apps) on the basis of vehicle registration numbers as well as electronic issuance of parking cards (i.e. they are virtual, not paper).

In such case, the checks can be performed by scanning and recognising the vehicle registration numbers using a control application for field personnel. Parking eligibility is evaluated against data from the central database of parking permits (tickets and parking cards) with regard to their validity at the location where the vehicle registration number was checked.

How the check itself is carried out

The check is very simple, it only requires a mobile device with the installed ParkDots Enforcement app for checking the parking permit, and a mobile internet connection. You can simply take a picture of the vehicle registration number of the cars being checked or enter them manually. The system then verifies in real time whether the vehicle has a valid parking permit (ticket or parking card) for the specific location.


When creating a report (a record of an identified unauthorised parking or violations of parking rules), it is possible to select a section for the exact categorisation of the violation in terms of the Road Traffic Act (Act No. 8/2009 Coll. – Road Traffic Act). Consequently, these can be dealt with in the field (by the municipal police/towing service) or by staff “at the headquarters” in strict liability regime.

The system allows you to set roles for the application users depending on your specific requirements, and the check can be multi-level (check by inspectors, resolving violations by the municipal police, or a merged dual role – municipal policeman both checks and resolves violations).

The system can be configured exactly according to the general binding regulations of a given city or town.

For each vehicle registration number, the system keeps a history of all reports and violations registered, from which a so-called “violator score” is calculated. It is thus possible to clearly distinguish a first-time violator from a notorious parking violator and to take this into account when dealing with the violation (reproof, fine).

The application provides overview of reports and violations. In addition, the system collects data on each check carried out, which makes it possible to evaluate the performance of staff or the evolution of the checks coverage rate and trends in violations in individual areas.
